Honor Everyone’s Journey – Even When You’re Feeling Frustrated or Hurt

I mentioned some things a couple of days ago about being understanding of where others are on their journey, especially when they can’t do or be what we want them to. I am definitely still walking through this. I ran into a brick wall about this just yesterday.

Generally, our expectations, whether they are our positive traits or negative ones, seem to always come to the surface when we are judging how someone else needs to behave in front of us.

What is interesting is that the positive trait expectations seem to be conscious and the negative traits appear to be sub-conscious. This means we have certain negative behaviors that we really don’t want to admit, but we project those on others thinking they will do the same thing. They might… or they may not; and they aren’t us.

These are some tricky things to maneuver and observe about ourselves, yet it must be done.

The important thing to see here is that we all our on our own journey. It isn’t a race, so there is no external winner, however, it is an opportunity to look at ourselves and learn to be more kind and compassionate, for ourselves and others, who sometimes just don’t get it.

We are all walking through this life on this planet that we call Earth. We all bleed red when we are cut. We all make mistakes that we get to learn from. We all want to love and be loved (even if it doesn’t appear that way in some cases).

Judgment has no room here as I am finding out. He is in his space by the way he is behaving because that is what he knows in this moment; so is she.

I feel that the most important thing to do is to be gentler with ourselves as we are walking on this journey and learn to be gentle with others.

Now, I’m not saying to let people walk all over you because some can and will do that. You must set boundaries when necessary.

What I’m am saying is there are times in our lives when we are trying to be perfect and get locked so far into that perfectionism that we expect that from others and more from ourselves. Here is where we get to give ourselves a break on this journey.
